Ideal go the Xtra mile
Building on the success of the popular Imax W and Imax Plus range of high efficiency condensing boilers, Ideal Boilers has launched the new Imax Xtra series to offer even more choice for commercial and industrial heating applications.
Specifically manufactured to meet the latest 2006 Building Regulations (Part L2), the floor standing Imax Xtra range combines high operating efficiencies with low emissions values to help save end-users money on their commercial heating and hot water bills.
Graham Williamson, business director of commercial heating at Ideal Boilers, said: Fuel prices are continuing to rise year on year and with this set to continue, it is vitally important there are energy efficient solutions on the market for commercial and large domestic properties. This, combined legislation changes and businesses being encouraged to be more environmentally friendly, has forced the heating industry to re-evaluate its product offering.
The Imax Xtra has been introduced to extend Ideal’s range of HE condensing boilers and offer more options for installers. We are constantly looking at ways of improving our product and service offer, and this further highlights our commitment to achieving this.
Available in six models, with outputs from 80 to 280Kw, the boiler design ensures high efficiencies at both full and part loads, with non condensing efficiencies of up to 97.7% nett (88% gross cv) at 800C flow and up to 107.5% nett (96.9% gross cv) at 30% load in condensing mode.
Features include a fully modulating burner operation to ensure the Imax Xtra operates as efficiently as possible throughout its firing cycle, even down to 20% of the maximum rating, so the boiler is able to match its output to all system requirements no matter what the size.
Built around a solid and reliable cast aluminium heat exchanger, burner operation is a pre mix design with air and gas mixed in the correct proportions and fired through a cylindrical burner in the upper area of the heat exchanger. Heat is forced down through the heat exchanger to ensure maximum heat transfer whilst condensate formed drops into the sump at the base of the boiler.
Optimum control is achieved at all times through the use of a microprocessor control. Readily accessible at the front of the boiler, it operates all the electrical functions including ignition, flame detection, flow / return temperatures sensors and output modulation. In addition, the microprocessor displays boiler status and a fault diagnosis program, with remote indication of boiler run and alarm fitted as standard. A wide range of control options are available to ensure easy application of BMS systems, sequencing and sensor control.
