Ideal fuels luxury living
Ideal Boilers has been chosen to supply boilers and hot water generators to Glenmor, a luxury development of seasonal ownership lodges, part of The Gleneagles Hotel estate.
RSP Consulting Engineers, in Edinburgh and contractors Meadowburn Mechanical recommended 15 Ideal imax W45 condensing boilers and 15 Senator calorifiers, to meet the demanding requirements of the project.
Despite being domestic properties, the Glenmor lodges need significant amounts of hot water and heating around the clock. Each property has ensuite bathrooms with power showers, underfloor heating and vast baths for two or three people, so commercial products were seen as the best solution.
The imax is Ideal's wall-hung condensing boiler, available in a range of outputs. The use of the W45 model in the Glenmor development is fully modulating with a minimum output of 13kW and a maximum of 47kW, ensuring the heating runs as efficiently as possible regardless of the demand that is placed upon it.
Craig Dickson, senior mechanical engineer, RSP Consulting Engineers, commented: We needed high quality, reliable products to generate a great deal of heat and hot water very quickly and for long periods, which were also cost effective to install and operate. Ideal has the credentials and the after sales support that gave us the confidence to use them for the Glenmor development.
