Multiple boiler frame and header kits are available to cover up to 3
boilers in a cascade arrangement either in a horizontal configuration
(see technical diagram below) or in a back-to-back configuration. The
maximum arrangement possible may give outputs of up to 600kW
which will cover many installation scenarios. This clearly will give the
installer and contractor different opportunities for utilising
increased/large outputs in a small space. Choosing an Ideal frame
and header kit will also provide the following:
· The assemblies making up the completed kits, can also be
supplied separately, allowing the installer complete flexibility.
· Single frames can also be supplied to allow installation where wall
mounting may not be an option.
· A sequencer kit is also available to maximise the efficiency of a
multiple boiler installation.
· Multiple
W boilers may be installed with a common flue
header (not supplied by Ideal Boilers Ltd). The flue system should
be designed and supplied by a specialist flue company. BS 6644
and IGE UP/10 provide guidance on design and the drainage of
condensate from flue stack and headers. Condensate from a flue
stack and header must be collected and drained before entering
the boiler.
· Electrical and gas safety checks should be carried out on
completion of installation as with individual boiler commissioning.
The modular approach
The compact size and versatility of the Ideal
W makes it the
perfect solution for a modular system, offering the designer complete
freedom of choice.
A boiler sequencer is included with integral weather compensating
controls to ensure optimum use of plant to meet demand and
rotation of lead unit.
The balance header includes tappings for air vent, fill
point/expansion vessel, drain off and system flow and return. The
number and size of system tappings is as per the customer's own
specification.
Rig options
In today's complex design approach it's common to have systems
which require a number of different flow temperatures such as
underfloor heating, weather compensation, DHW via indirect
cylinder, air handling units, etc. The Ideal plant Rig approach can
solve this problem by incorporating diverter valves to selected
boiler(s).
In this way the selected boilers can be seconded from serving the
main system flow to serve another requirement at another flow
temperature. Once this requirement is satisfied the selected boilers
are diverted back to join the other boilers serving the system at the
main flow temperature.
Whilst the boilers are seconded away, the Rig controller
automatically increases the power demand from the remaining
boilers to compensate. This can be repeated with other boilers at
other temperatures to meet user requirements.
What's included
· Up to four Ideal commercial units per frame as specified by the
customer
· Individual shunt pumps within each unit
· Single balance header sized according to output
· Sequence controller
· Safety and isolating valves
· Drain point
Conforms with all relevant
European standards and

Factories, commercial and public buildings, ranging from schools, blocks of flats, offices, hotels, pubs and restaurants through to sports halls,
department stores, hospitals and museums, are just some of the applications that have benefited from installing Ideal condensing boilers.
The Ideal Rigs are delivered to site pre-assembled and incorporate up to four units within a floor standing frame and up to 20 boilers operating in
sequence across multiple frames. A dual boiler wall-hung rig is also available. The units are pre-piped to a single balance header.
